THE GREEN BURIAL GUIDEBOOK – Elizabeth Fournier with Casey Jarman

On Friday, May 18, local undertaker and author Elizabeth Fournier will share funerary experiences from her new release, The Green Burial Guidebook: Everything You Need to Plan an Affordable, Environmentally Friendly Burial, and lead a lively discussion about all things natural burial. Elizabeth will be joined in conversation by Casey Jarman, author of Death: An Oral History (Zest Books, 2016).
Elizabeth Fournier has been described in People Magazine as “…doing her part to change the way Americans bury their dead.” She is the owner of Cornerstone Funeral Services in Boring, Oregon, and is the voice of the autopsy exhibit in the forensic wing at the United States National Museum of Medicine.
Casey Jarman has served as the music editor at the Pulitzer Prize-winning weekly Willamette Week in Portland, Oregon, and managing editor of the Believer in San Francisco. He co-founded Party Damage Records in 2013. He has written for the Believer, Nylon, Portland Monthly, Willamette Week, Next American City, and Reed Magazine, as well as various online publications. He is currently a contributing editor at the Believer. He lives in Portland with his wife and two cats.
