Airstream Poetry Festival & Fellowship

October 19-21, join publishers, authors, and plain old book lovers for potlucks in the pavilion, readings, workshops, walks by the sea, and maybe even some karaoke at the Sou’wester Lodge and Trailer Park in Seaview, Washington.

Proposals for program participation are now closed. Watch here for updates soon!

Tickets for the festival: Tickets are available for $15; in person at the bookshop, at the Sou’wester front desk, or online via Brown Paper Tickets.

Lodging at the Sou’wester: Lodging on-site is first come, first served. To book your lodging for the festival, contact the Sou’wester BY PHONE–(360) 642-2542–and mention the Airstream Poetry Festival through Mother Foucault’s Bookshop.

Other places to stay in Seaview/Long Beach: If the Sou’wester’s lodgings fill up, you can still buy a festival ticket (which includes potluck dinner Friday and omelette breakfast on Saturday). We recommend the Adrift Hotel or Seaview Motel and Cottages.

We’re now accepting submissions for our Airstream Poetry Fellowship. This is for poets only and includes a week-long residency in the Sou’wester’s Potato Bug trailer the week before the Festival. We also feature our fellow as a reader in Saturday evening’s lineup.

To apply: ***DEADLINE September 15*** Bring or snail mail your printed manuscript (five pages maximum) to the bookshop – 523 SE Morrison St. Portland, OR 97214. Include a cover page with your name, contact info, and table of contents. Your name should appear NOWHERE on the any of the other manuscript pages. Applications will be read by blind jury, and a fellow announced by September 20.

Interested in more fellowship opportunities? Our friends at submission reading series are also funding two writers to attend and take part in the festival. All entries are blind. Apply HERE.

We’re looking for sponsors for the festival! If you’re a business that would like to partner with us by placing your product, service, or funds amongst festival attendees (hint: writers need booze, food, recreation, and transportation, as well as funding for the above), we are more than happy to sing your praises on our robust social media platforms and to send enthusiastic new audiences your way.
