NATIONAL PARK — Emily Sieu Leibowitz with Ally Harris & Jeff Alessandrelli

September 28 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for a reading with Emily Sieu Liebowitz, Ally Harris, and Jeff Alessandrelli.

National Park (Gramma Press, 2018), the debut collection of poems from Emily Sieu Liebowitz, is not just something to read ~ it’s something to hear. Liebowitz is sending fractured radio waves like letters or songs across the great expanses that exist between coasts, people, articulation, and meaning. These poems seem to hover just above us, forcing us to meet them on a higher plane of language.

Emily Liebowitz grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she is the Author of National Park (Gramma, 2018) and the chapbook In Any Map (Songcave, 2015). She lives in Brooklyn where she co-edits LVNG Magazine and serves on the board of the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP).

Ally Harris is the author of two chapbooks of poetry, Her Twin Was After Me (Slim Princess Holdings) and floor baby (dancing girl press), as well as poems in The Volta, Sink Review, Denver Quarterly, BOAAT Press, Entropy Magazine, and Bennington Review. She runs Submission Reading Series in Portland, OR.
Jeff Alessandrelli is a writer and editor. Most recently he co-edited Mark Baumer’s poetry collection Meow, forthcoming from Burnside Review Press in 2019. Additionally, Jeff also runs and directs the vinyl record-only poetry press Fonograf Ed., which recently issued LPs by Harmony Holiday and Alice Notley.
