Leah Stenson & Andrea Hollander

Friday, March 23, Leah Stenson reads from her recently released collection of poems, EVERYWHERE I FIND MYSELF. Leah is joined by Portland Poet Andrea Hollander, author of LANDSCAPE WITH FEMALE FIGURE.

In addition to poetry, Leah Stenson has published essays, editorials, and feature articles for various newspapers and magazines and co-authored a textbook for Japanese students of English. Finishing Line Press published her poetry chapbooks, Heavenly Body in 2011 and The Turquoise Bee and Other Love Poems in 2014. WordTech Communications’ Turning Point Press published her first full-length poetry book, Everywhere I Find Myself, in 2017. Leah’s poems have been featured in such publications as the Oregonian, NW Women’s Journal, Oregon Literary Review, Portland Alliance, Thresholds, Verse Weavers, San Diego Poetry Annual, VoiceCatcher, Colere, and Cloudbank.

Andrea Hollander is the author of four full-length poetry collections: Landscape with Female Figure: New & Selected Poems, a finalist for the Oregon Book Award; Woman in the Painting; The Other Life; and House Without a Dreamer, which won the Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize. Other honors include the 2017 Vern Rutsala Award, a 2013 Oregon Literary Fellowship, two Pushcart Prizes (for poetry and literary nonfiction), the D. H. Lawrence Fellowship, the Runes Poetry Prize, two poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and two from the Arkansas Arts Council. Her poems and essays have appeared in numerous anthologies, college textbooks, and literary journals. For twenty-two years she served as the Writer-in-Residence at Lyon College, where she was awarded the Lamar Williamson Prize for Excellence in Teaching. She lives in Portland, Oregon, where she teaches workshops at the Attic Institute and Mountain Writers Series.
