Tempest Gold with Julia Laxer & Niina Pollari

May 5 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Come see Tempest Gold for an intimate performance in a beautiful setting. Joining Chris that evening will be readings from poets Julia Laxer and Niina Pollari. Come have a glass of wine, relax and enjoy yourself at a Portland treasure.

Tempest Gold was founded by Chris El-korek in early 2017. Fans of artists Echo & The Bunnymen, Robyn Hitchcock, & Love and Rockets will find themselves on familiar ground here. El-korek’s songwriting centers around themes of the subconscious, interconnectedness, struggle and triumph. His stories are not just one’s personal observations and moments but experiences shared by all. Shifting between full band arrangements and solo acoustic songs, Tempest Gold lives as an ongoing project welcoming a variety of collaborators.

Niina Pollari is the author of Dead Horse (Birds, LLC). She lives in Brooklyn and has written two previous chapbooks: Fabulous Essential (Birds of Lace 2009) and Book Four (Hyacinth Girl 2012). She translated Tytti Heikkinen’s The Warmth of the Taxidermied Animal (Action Books 2013).
